About Art Lessons

Age 7 - 10

Drawing is fun -
Broadening students' visual images; cultivating good drawing habits and work ethic; challenging imagination and creative picture-making abilities; color mixing and coloring skills; exploring different drawing/painting media; introducing basic observational drawing skills, basic shape approach, line fluency, proportion and visual depth.

Materials:
- A sketchpad - 9"x12", spiral bound, paper weight at least 60 lb (Strathmore and Canson recommended, although other brands are possible)

- Painting materials are provided by the studio

To parents and caregivers:

Thank you very much for your interest in my art lessons!

There is no drawing experience needed to start art lessons. The best learning experience happens when students join a group that matches their age and drawing level. For children who have never taken any drawing lessons, I would recommend them to start with a younger class for at least one semester before moving up to an advanced class.

The exact nature of each class is based on students' preferred schedule, age, drawing experience and situation (regarding siblings/friends, etc. in the class). I will confirm your spot after balancing all these elements, and will follow up with an email regarding payment methods before class starts.

Putting each student in the best group for their needs and experience is important; it requires time for well-thought consideration and back and forth communication. Thank you very much for your flexibility, understanding and patience in advance!

I look forward to hearing from you and working with your young artists!

Thank You!
