About the Camps

Founded in 1999, these art camps have grown every year. They take place at the artist's home studio at 1308 South Race Street, Urbana.

Small groups of campers - With a maximum of 15 campers per camp, both beginning and advanced campers will get individual attention and instruction.

Informative Lessons - Each camp is designed to focus on learning specific concepts of art making. Project activities are flexible to accommodate different student levels. There are two 60-minute lessons each morning, with a one-hour recess in between, so campers have plenty of chances to play and have fun. The lessons including teacher's demonstrations, critiques, various intensive practice sessions depending on the concepts indroduced, and hands-on activities.

Friendly and fun environment - Camps are located in the instructor’s art studio with a fenced backyard. Each morning's recess will take place at Carle Park, which is only two blocks away. The studio also provides a variety of fresh fruit everyday as snacks after recess.
