Acrylic Camp
Activities: Choosing from a wide variety of themes, campers will learn color-mixing skills, compositional ideas, painting strategies and techniques. New campers will paint 2-3 paintings step by step with guidance; returning campers will strengthen and build their skills by painting their favorite subjects, with individual feedback. All campers can expect to bring home 2 to 4 ready-to-hang paintings.
Materials: Campers need to bring at least four stretched canvases or canvas panels (size around 11" x 14"; returning campers can bring sizes up to 16" x 20". Please note that it takes more time to cover a larger canvas.) The studio will supply all other painting materials.
Watercolor Camp
Activities: This camp will introduce you to watercolor painting, one of the most beautiful yet challenging arts. We will make it fun and easy to explore many watercolor painting techniques: landscape, still life, animals and florals. Campers are expected to make new paintings every morning - first by following the teacher's demonstration, and then their own choice of subject. If weather permits, we might even have an outdoor painting session in the beautiful studio garden.
Returning campers can strengthen and build their skills by painting new sets of paintings on various subjects.
Materials: Campers need to bring their own watercolor pads (5.5” x 8.5”, 140 lb, spiral bound, at least 20 sheets); and a set of watercolor paints (12-color tube set.) Siblings can share one set of paints. The studio will provide brushes, palettes and other necessary supplies.
CartooningActivities: This camp happens in the last week of summer for kids who love drawing, but haven’t been able to find time to fit our studio schedule during school. Here, kids can experience the fun of drawing and creating. We will draw not only your favorite animals, but also imaginary creatures like dragons, Pokemon and anything you like! We might even sketch outdoor in the beautiful studio garden if weather permits.
Materials: All you need is a drawing pad of any kind; the studio will provide all other drawing materials.
